Citizen M Miami Worldcenter has been approved by Miami’s Planning & Zoning Department.

The city issued a warrant to allow for construction of the 12-story hotel, which will include 351 rooms and no parking spaces.

Room sizes will be ultra small. A waiver was also granted by the city, allowing for a 10% reduction in minimum hotel room size to 185 square feet. Hotel rooms are normally required by zoning to have a minimum of 200 square feet.

A rooftop bar and pool deck is also planned.

Retail space and a public plaza is being planned separately on the same block, with a 3-story retail building now in the permitting phase.

The latest approval allows for the hotel project to move forward, although public art proposed for the ground floor and facade will still need to be reviewed by city officials.

Gensler is the architect of the hotel.
