A meeting is scheduled this week to plan for the elimination of traffic lanes in downtown Miami.

Biscayne Green is proposed to replace the traffic lanes with pedestrian friendly green space.

One or more lanes will be removed in favor of space that is more friendly towards pedestrians, bicycles, and transit, a flyer states.

Renderings show that ugly surface parking lots in the median of the street could also be removed.

FDOT and the DDA will conduct the meeting on October 29. A traffic consultant is now studying the proposal.
