Miami’s $800 million Signature Bridge project is now underway, according to the Herald.

Instalation of exploratory test piles along I-395 has already commenced, according to an FDOT spokesperson.

Lane closures to allow for surveying along I-95 also began this week.

Major foundation work for the Signature Bridge will begin in March or April, with widening work along the 836 starting at the same time.

Completion is scheduled for fall 2023.

An intersection of three major highways is being rebuilt as part of the project, along with a new double deck elevated highway. The Signature Bridge itself will include six arches as a design element, along with new public spaces underneath the highway.
