Miami-Dade commissioners are scheduled to vote this week on finalizing a deal to develop twin towers at Block 45 in Overtown.

A surface parking lot is now on the site, but the area is exploding with new development.

If approved at a meeting on June 19, Atlantic & Pacific Communities will be granted a 90-year lease to build:

  • Twin 29-story towers
  • 600 rental apartments (60 percent workforce and affordable)
  • 23,000 square feet of retail
  • 645 parking spaces
  • Renovation of Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail Station

A pedestrian friendly design is a priority, the developers say.

An aggressive construction timeline is also planned in order to meet the county’s request to expedite building.

Atlantic Pacific Communities is the lead developer, with Corwil the architect.
