Wynwood Yard closed yesterday.

It will soon be demolished.

Developer Lennar is planning to replace the venue with an 11-story apartment building called Wynwood Green, and has already purchased the property.

A construction permit to begin work was applied for at Miami’s Building department in April. The permit states that the project will include:

  • 11-story, 146-foot building height
  • 189 apartment units
  • 15,800 square feet of retail

Total estimated construction cost is $38 million.

Last week, the FAA granted approval to install two tower cranes at the site to assist in construction. They will rise 257 feet above ground.
